This past December, the local Cape Flats government shut down 70% of Early Childhood Development schools in the area, due to building code violations and other risk factors. This has—horrifyingly and heartbreakingly—led to a tremendous increase in violence against children. The need for young children to have a safe place to learn, play, and grow has never been greater.

With your help, we are launching 4 new Early Childhood Development schools this year, providing a safe learning environment for 100 young children.

We are raising funds to launch a scalable and reproducible Early Childhood Development school model that focuses holistically on each child and his or her individual development at this crucial period in life. Each school will initially target children ages 3 through 6. As demand, need, and resources allow, we will expand into subsequent grades.

UNICEF notes a proven correlation between Early Childhood Development (ECD) and a future reduction in crime rates, unemployment, and overall health complications. Investing with us in these ECD schools is a long-term investment into the futures of 100 children, as well as the communities in which they live.
