Spiritual Formation
As a faith-based organization that believes in the principles and truth of the Bible, we believe our Spiritual Formation initiatives have the power to change lives from the inside out. We equip, mobilize, and inspire leaders, pastors, and churches to follow the way of Jesus in working alongside the poor and oppressed.
Church Equipping
We empower and equip the local church and church leadership, with the goal of seeing the Church become the primary source of development in the communities in which we work. We provide various regular seminars and meetings for pastors and leaders of churches to be equipped in leadership development, discipleship, and Biblical training. Through our partnership with hundreds of churches in South African townships, we are seeing new levels of community transformation take place.
Ongoing Discipleship
Our year-long leadership and discipleship program, Young Leaders Network (YLN), empowers young leaders through classes, small groups, one-on-one mentorship, and hands-on ministry opportunities. This course spiritually develops students in topics such as grace, identity in Christ, Biblical worldview, purpose, relationships, and servant leadership.
Biblical Education
We believe Biblical training should be accessible and affordable. In partnership with Cape Town Baptist Seminary (CTBS) and their PULSE Programme, we lead a two-year theological training program on-site at Hope Africa Collective, offering valuable training to local pastors and church leaders, many of whom have not been able to afford a Biblical education. The course costs are kept low to make the program accessible to as many as possible.
Learn MoreEarly Education: The First Thousand Days
We believe education is a human right. Yet of the 57 million children globally who are not in school, over half (30 million) live in sub-Saharan Africa. In the Western Cape province of South Africa alone, there are more than 500,000 children under the age of 5 and over 40% have zero access to education.
Studies show that early childhood development leads to greater success at school, higher employment and earning opportunities, better overall health, lower dependence on welfare, and a decrease in crime and poverty levels. Focusing on this age group makes a significant impact in community transformation and creating a future without poverty.
The critical window of a child’s development is the First Thousand Days (FTD) of its life. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, from conception to two years, that has disproportional influence in the lifetime flourishing of an individual.
This period is both a great opportunity and a great risk. Over 50% of children in South Africa (picture a million new young lives each year) are born into adverse conditions and will not receive enough of what they need to maximize this period and realize their God-given potential both now and into the future of their lives. This is a great injustice.
We have partnered with the Sikunye Organization and Common Good to bring this very needed program to our 150+ Church Network at Hope Africa Collective. We are convinced that every local church is uniquely positioned and equipped to make a significant difference to families and the care they provide to their young ones.
